From San Ignacio: Tikal Maya Site Day-Trip with Local Lunch
1.Tikal Maya Site Day-Trip with Local Lunch
Leave San Ignacio at 7:00 AM for Tikal, crossing into Guatemala with help from your guide. A small group of up to 15 visits major temples, plazas, and jungle trails, with time to climb selected ruins, spot monkeys and toucans, and eat a local lunch. Guides may include Luis, Sergio, Willie, or Amado.

“It was 104° with 63% humidity. Not the tours fault, but it was hot. I recommend eating a big breakfast, and pack snacks before going across the border. The guide took us to a restaurant, about an hour inside Guatemala. $10 for scrambled eggs, fried plantain and beans to go was not worth it. Bring lots of water (at least 16 oz per hour). Save an empty water bottle to fill up in the bathrooms. Not for drinking, but to pour over you head and neck to cool down.”
